Ashton Stanton, MD

Dr. Ashton Stanton is a Physiatrist in Exeter, New Hampshire. Dr. Stanton is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) and has a special interest in Sports Medicine.

"My approach to practicing Physiatry is to be aggressive with diagnosis and conservative with treatment. I like to provide my patients with an education about their diagnoses and the involved anatomy. By doing this I believe it empowers patients to make informed decisions about their care. My goal is to return patients to their optimal level of function, therefore allowing them to resume their chosen recreational and vocational activities."

"My specific interest is non-surgical spine and musculoskeletal care. I also have extensive training in treating sports-related injuries. I use a combination of minimally invasive procedures coupled with specialized physical therapy to maximize outcomes."

"Outside of work I spend most of his free time with my children and family. I enjoy the outdoors and I am an avid skier and surfer. I also volunteer my time by providing sports medicine coverage for community athletic events and local sports teams."

I think Dr Stanton should have ordered tests for my pelvis to the top of my shoulders so that the psychiatrist my primary care doctor recommended would get the results before my appointment with them.

Not explicit enough

Excellent care from every staff member in Dr. Stanton's office

Seemed to push surgery & the next provider 'to learn all options' despite my poor history with surgery. Prescribed PT, but did not fully explore or explain other options. 'Not a candidate for stem cell' but did not say why.

Only went to this dr. once. No one is considering that I have several health problems that need to be addressed. I keep getting sent to one specialist or another. No one is listening to me!

Care has always been good until last appt. to review MRI. Dr. didn't seem prepared and hurried through - then referred me to other dr.

11/29/2016

Dr cancelled phy therapy after 5 weeks of visits. Insurance denied MRI because 6 wks of pt had not been completed. This occurred at end of Dec. Cost of MRI in new ins year with cost me a much larger amount because of maxing out deductible in 2016.

Dr. Stanton is very professional and I feel very comfortable under his care.

I felt that I could trust these people. I felt relaxed.

For my first appointment, I was in pain yet my appt. was 17 (3 weeks) away My second appt was 11 days away. My third appt was 11 days away so I asked for a closer appt and she gave me one 5 days away. My fourth appt was never 24 days away. I realize he is a very busy orthopedic doctor, but the waiting time for appointments seemed excessive to me
