Dr. Stevens is wonderful. My only complaint is that my initial blood pressure was taken by the tech over the clothing I was wearing, which was thick: t-shirt, long-sleeve sweatshirt and a long-sleeved Icelandic wool knit sweater. The reading was high. Dr. Stevens took it again when he came in later. By that time I had removed the sweatshirt and sweater. This time the reading was normal. The printout I received at check-out had just the high reading, so I called the office about it. Both readings are in your records, so I am satisfied and told the person on the phone not to mail me an updated print-out. I then read some research papers online that confirmed that thick clothing results in false-high BP readings. The person on the phone also said that BP should be taken with very little or no clothing on the arm. I recommend that you tell all your techs to follow a rule of your making regarding BP tests and clothing. Otherwise, the tech was delightful. Thank you.
