Ezra Bashaw did not use the same procedure in delivering a shot of Cortisone & Lidocaine in my arthritic hand (thumb area) as had been done by a prior PA. Prior PA used an ultrasound machine to find the area and to guide the needle. Ezra found the area by applying pressure to my hand causing significant pain. Then he inserted the needle hitting bone or nerve causing Excruciating pain (12 on a 1-10 scale). One hour later I had a reaction to something (noting I have an extensive Rx list including meds for Prostate Ca). The symptoms included: total body ache, shakes and shivers, exhaustion and dizziness. My wife call the Ortho Department and talked to Ezra and a triage nurse. They prescribed acetaminophen for the pain and to call 911 or go to the ER if had trouble breathing. Ezra was surprised I had a delayed reaction. By evening the chills and shakes subsided, and the pain level had lessened. The next day (Saturday) I felt to be 70 of normal with tiredness and some dizziness persisting. Sunday I was at 95% and so was able to go to church. Monday I was back to normal. I have sent my PCP a summary with his suggestion to not get another shot for a while. In six months I will be faced with the same daily pain issue and the question of what to do.

I highly recommend Ezra, who provides good, competent, comfortable care.
